radio. The station is operated from the home of Sherry and Dan Brann. Their two children, Denis and Derek, also play a big part at loading the airwaves full of local entertainment. CFMQ keeps Hudson Bay and surrounding area informed daily with the very popular morning show, “BRANN FLAKES”. You’ll find it all here every morning from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. -- weather, news, sports, views, interviews, jokes, swap shop, and lots of local music talent. Speaking of talent, CFMQ prides itself on promoting and airing local talent of all ages from the community.
There is live broadcasting almost on a continuous basis from community locations such as live hockey from the are, sound stage talent show from Al Mazur Memorial Heritage Park, the Hudson Bay Trade Fair (3 days), the Heritage Day Parade, the annual Soap Box Derby, the Kiddies Cordwood Bonspiel, Hudson Bay Trail Riders Snow Drags, and these are just a few of the activities that CFMQ participates in.
Because of the different approach to radio broadcasting, CFMQ has been featured in many newspapers and TV programs. Some are: CBC’s On The Road Again with Wayne Rostad; CBC & CTV news information programs; CBC’s Morningside with Peter Gzowski as well as many newspapers like the cover story on the Western Producer, Western People and also front page on the Saskatoon Star Phoenix.
