and had a bar serving soft drinks. No alcohol was available in the Dielectric Club, the simple reason being it was a happy place and we felt that having alcohol available would have changed the vibe of the place. What we created was a true happy family for thousands ravers from all over the UK and beyond. Ravers would travel from all parts of the country, EVERY WEEK for these awesome nights.
Diehard opened its doors in 1993 and played rave music, happy music - pianos and vocals with breaks and bass lines which your whole body absorbed! We also played some banging techno downstairs, trance, gabba, speedcore and bouncy!
Happy Hardcore was mainly played in room upstairs with regular DJs such as, Slipmatt, Dougal, Vibes, Sy, Sunny, Smiley and Unknown to name but a few. The room had a sprung wooden floor, raised stage and air conditioning units to pump cold air on to the hot ravers. The walls of the club were painted black with smiley faces and slogans of happy hi-Qs
