• Establish KUAC as the most vital and trusted multi-media voice in Alaska
Broadcasting
• Build an audience-focused KUAC that is responsive to community needs
o Develop and foster Community and University partnerships that add value to
KUAC
o Expand Community Outreach efforts
o Develop a Feedback Mechanism to measure programmatic responses
• Develop a dynamic programming mix for the broadcasting community we
serve
o Build a News and Public Affairs unit that supports the viewing/listening public’s
need for new information, offering feature-rich news stories with greater
dimensionality and multiple voices
o Provide appropriate Television Programming to address the desires and diversity
of viewers
o Develop Radio Programming that addresses important community and cultural
issues and entertains and attracts new listeners
o Develop KUAC's Web Portal as a valued resource where our audience can find
additional content relative to items broadcast and topics of similar interest.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive Fund Development Plan to
diversify KUAC’s funding stream and build financial sustainability
o Significantly increase individual Donor Development efforts
o Enhance the role of Underwriting, Corporate Sponsorship and Foundation
Support in meeting the Core Purpose
o Reduce reliance on Short-Term Fundraising
• Develop a Long-Term Facilities Plan which meets staff and community
needs
o Plan to most effectively use current space and equipment resources
o Accessibility Plan to make KUAC more available to the community
o New Facility Plan to serve KUAC for the next 20 years
• Build internal capacity to meet KUAC’s Core Purpose
o Develop a sustainable Human Resources plan
o Put mechanisms in place to incorporate Team Building into KUAC culture
o Establish policies aimed at Improving Lines of Communication between
management and staff
o Create infrastructure for the Exchange of Departmental short-term Goals
